Les seigneurs de Cedvice ont construit a la place du château actuel a la fin du 16eme siecle un lieu fortifié style renaissante. Apres la bataille a la Montagne Blanche, c'est M. Johann Reinhard von Metternich qui devient avec ses freres le propriétaire du domaine de la seigneurie, du château et du lieu fortifié. Lothar von Metternich - Winneburg und Beilstein au château de Kynzvart englobe plus de 12 milles de titres dans 24 milles tomes. Les 160 manuscrits comprennent entre autres par exemple le fragment unique de Cinq livres de Moise datant de la fin du 8eme et du début de 9eme siecle.
